Tell us, when did mind-body first bend you to its will? I came to Blue Anjou for a belly dancing class, and saw the current promo of 10 days of yoga for $15.00. I was on vacation the upcoming week, and decided to check it out. After my class I fell in LOVE! Since then I have not been able to get enough.
Besides your obvious coolness, what makes you qualified to teach? Other than my AMAZING training that I got from my teachers at Blue Anjou (ed. 'nuff said - haha) ... hmm ... I'm a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. During my training I put in a ton of extra time attending other yoga classes around DFW. Learned lots and Blue still remained my favorite.
What other things are you qualified to do? I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications. I was in management at Abercrombie & Fitch for almost 10 years. Now combining my yoga training I would say that I'm qualified to be in leadership roles.
What can we expect to see, hear and do in your classes? I love the Chakras! You will hear me talk a lot about that. Expect to use your breath to connect with the mind and slow down. I want you to leave my class feeling as though you have just given yourself a special treat!
What pose/move do you dig the most and why? I love PIGEON!!! "Hurts so good" is what I like to say about this pose. Staying in it long enough creates a lot of space, and I always feel so much better afterwards.
If you could push a button and remove a pose/move from history, which one and why? Flying crow! I get so annoyed trying to do it. I'm sure one day I will like it, because I will finally get it.
What are 3 things that make you smile real big and cheesy? All the things that I am blessed with in my life!
1 - I have a great, loving family.
2 - I have amazing neighbors and friends.
3 - Baby's! (ed. what kind of baby's?)
If you could do anything to change the world, what would it be? Ensure that all children receive a great education.
Any other interesting information you would like to share with the nice people reading this here Bio? I have a 5 year old son, and the best husband ever! I'm the oldest of five kids, and I like to say that that's where I got my first experience of leadership. I love learning! I'm usually reading a book to learn something new. I get really into whatever it is that I'm doing. My first true yoga journey started from a book before I ever took a class. It was A New Earth the Awakening by Eckhart Tolle.
