- Tell us, when did mind-body first bend you to its will? I’m not sure what drew me to Yoga – I just knew that I needed to find a class and when I walked out of that first class, I knew that I’d found what was missing in my life and I’ve never looked back!
-
Besides your obvious coolness, what makes you qualified to teach? I began my Yoga training with YogaFit in 2004, completed my 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) training with Namaste' USA in March 2007 and recently completed Blue Anjou's 500 Hour RYT training program.
- What other things are you qualified to do (ed. besides train dolphins ... we're all qualified to do that)? I spent more years that I care to admit working in the Home Healthcare field. After four years of teaching Yoga, that seems a lifetime ago!
- What can we expect to see, hear and do in your classes? My teaching style has often been referred to as “bait and switch” but you’ll need to come and see about that for yourself! Expect to laugh, expect to practice Downward Facing Dog (see next question) and expect to leave feeling good about yourself, your life and your practice!
- What pose/move do you dig the most and why? Downward Facing Dog is my all-time favorite– it really wakes up the body and the mind!
- If you could push a button and remove a pose/move from history, which one and why? Oh, please....any of the arm balances – can people REALLY do those? (ed. achem, yes)
- What are 3 things that make you smile real big and cheesy? (ed. no fart jokes) My grandchildren (4 boys and 2 girls), a big family Christmas and a day (or 2 or 3....) at the beach!
- If you could do anything to change the world, what would it be? Encourage people to practice kindness – a simple act can have amazing results!
- Any other interesting information you would like to share with the nice people reading this here Bio? I spent 20 years in Home Health Care management, starting as a billing clerk in Erie, PA and working my way through the corporate ranks to regional, national and executive management positions with major healthcare providers. I gave up the stress and the big paycheck to pursue my passion for Yoga. I look forward to sharing that passion with you!
