200 Hour RYT (complete October 2009)
- Tell us, when did your mind-body first bend or move you to it's will? I first found yoga about six years ago. I’d been riding my bicycle outside and attending spin class for several years and had a spin teacher that also taught yoga. We started using yoga to stretch out after spin. Soon I was in the yoga studio more than on the bike or in the spin class.
- Besides your obvious coolness, what makes you so qualified to teach? I have a degree in education that did not get a lot of use initially. I guess I knew I had to teach, just not what.
- What other things are you qualified to do? I spend the majority of the day employed providing support to software engineers. I get to play with computer hardware all day. (ed. you probably wouldn't like me much in the 'real world' ... haha)
- What can we expect to see, hear and do in your classes? Hopefully a simple easy to understand class that everyone can take something away from and use in their own practice.
- What pose/move do you dig the most and why? Standing balance poses, no question. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough tree pose.
- If you could push a button and remove a pose/move from history, which one and why? I wouldn’t remove any, you never know what you’ll need down the road, but there are quite a few I chose to ignore today. (ed. you would, and it's called Eagle)
- Like, what's your sign man? Aquarius You know, “When the moon is in the seventh house…”
- What are 3 things that make you smile real big and cheesy?
- Sunlight at dawn (ed. as opposed to what? moonlight at dawn ... vampires at dawn ... yoga at dawn?)
- Getting drenched by a wet dog
- Putting all the pieces together in a puzzle
- What is your favorite quote when you're in need of a little inspiration? “You don’t have to live like a refugee” (ed. so we have the interesting mix of Tom Petty and The 5th Dimension)
- If you could do anything to change the world, what would it be? Get everyone to pay attention to what’s going on around them.
- Any other interesting information you would like to share with the nice people reading this here Bio? My B.S. degree was Art Education. I like to try to find the art in everything.
