(09:00am - 10:15am)
This event is repeated every 1. week.
Kundalini
Yoga combines pranayama (conscious breathing) with dynamic movement to
invigorate the body, strengthen the immune, endocrine, and nervous systems. Kundalini Yoga Classes can open up blocked
energy, returning body and spirit to inner balance; the practice helps ease
emotional, physical and mental tension. Mantra
(chanting/singing) is woven with the breath to focus the mind and to bring the
emotional body under control.
Kundalini is called the Yoga of Awareness because through this practice we seek with our breath to become conscious of how we interact and relate in the world with others. We learn self healing and responsibility. A typical class will begin with a meditative warm-up emphasizing the flow of breath and your awareness to it. We then move into physical asana which includes rhythmic movements of the body and the breath.
This is followed by a Kriya, a specific sequence of exercises designed to bring about a specific metabolic change. Each Kriya has a goal, be that cleansing the liver, calming the nerves, or strengthening the heart, etc. Kriya also assists the ability to meditate. This class allows for a longer and deeper meditation at the close of class. Everyone is welcome!
