About all Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga literally means the yoga of balanced action. All physical forms of yoga stem from Hatha Yoga and our Hatha Yoga classes are an eclectic blend of several Hatha Yoga traditions, depending on the teacher's background and format offered. All teachers move the class articulately through the postures, pausing and perfecting the intention and the breath. All classes are inspiring, strength building, meditative and soothing. Postures may be held for several breaths and modified to facilitate personal growth and transformation.

Hatha Yoga (the class)

In addition to asana (posture) instruction, this class includes brief philosophy, meditation and pranayama (breathing) practice.  For more in-depth meditative components, please try our Hatha Yoga and Meditation class.  Compassionate and skilled teachers emphasize proper body alignment and awareness, and use of breath for integration and release. Sustained postures promote strength, flexibility and the ability of the body to recover from day-to-day stresses. Classes are tailored to meet the needs of the individual student for that day.
