Kundalini Yoga & Meditation

Known as the "yoga of awareness", a typical Kundalini yoga class will start and end with the most beautiful and ancient chants which open and calm the heart. The physical part of the class is a carefully planned sequence of postures known as a Kriya, including repetitive movements and breathing exercises that bring about quick and powerful transformation on all levels.

The work the body has performed in doing the kriya helps to put one into an optimal emotional and mental state so that the meditation which follows will have maximum benefit. The meditation uses mantras (sounds, usually from ancient Sanskrit), mudras (hand positions) and special breathing techniques to help one focus, cut out distractions and achieve a meditative state.

Kundalini yoga focuses on pyscho-spiritual growth and the body's potential for maturation, giving special consideration to the role of the spine and the endocrine system in the understanding of yogic awakening. Elevate yourself through this ancient science! Some yoga experience recommended, although not necessary. An open mind and heart are required!
