  • Tell us, when did mind-body first bend you to it's will? I was always into some sort of competition and a lot of abuse went into the body, never thinking I was out of balance. After the years rolled by and 2 kids, the spine doc said "no more in it to win it for you (he knew running was my zen and a total veto wouldn't be listened to) so big people shoes for me with extra padding and tone it down a gear or two.

Now i had to be smarter. My husband (who already was into yoga for surfers), asked me to try my first yoga class at the St.Augustine YMCA (always credit your roots, right?) I had absolutely no clue about it, think I brought a thin towel to sit on. Now I bring 2 mats, ropelights, iPod, candles, aromatherapy, energy bar, anatomy book, blocks AND a thin towel to sit on. (ed. that was pretty good)
  • Besides your obvious coolness, what makes you qualified to teach? I am a healer in my nature. I love to see students "get it". I love to see them feel better. The more I teach the more I must learn,so I am somewhat of an anatomy junkie.I am also...

  • What can we expect to see, hear and do in your classes? Expect your standard, traditional, unconventional variety. (ed. um, okay)
  • What pose do you dig the most and why? I dig Chatturanga because of the organic strength it taps into and you always have to dig deeper to move out of it.
  • If you could push a button and remove a pose from history, which one and why? I do not like green eggs and ham and triangle ... my runners knees yell loudly even when moved with intention and awareness. (ed. green eggs would make a good yoga pose name)
  • Like, what's your sign man? I am Cancerian
  • What are 3 things that make you smile real big and cheesy? Surfing on a glassy fun day, my husband's under the radar humour and the fact that my son gets it are all things that tickle my funny bone.

    Hear and I forget,
    See and I remember,
    Do and I understand.
    (unknown)
    and equally important is
"Run away, Run away!!!"..holy grail (ed. we'll just assume you mean the movie. ;-) )
  • If you could do anything to change the world, what would it be? I don't know how I would do it but I think it would be important to protect the children from violence of any nature. (ed. except violence against cats)
  • Any other interesting information you would like to share with the nice people reading this here Bio? I am an Aussie surferbum (don't know if i can say that on this website - ed. you can say anything on this website, unless it is in praise of cats; that's prohibited) and an ardent student of Yoga and Pilates (I really love to disect the mechanics of the poses and the exercises). My roots come from the quality teachers I have enjoyed as well as the magical people I have instructed (blessed and mean) and yoga'd with on my journey. My husband has henna'ed "she plays" in sanskrit on my feet a few times because he believes that I have fun when I teach. I think it sums it up for me.
    thank you.
