Tai Chi & Qigong
Qigong (or ch'i kung) refers to a wide variety of practices that involve movement and breathing. The 'qi' (chi) in 'qigong' means breath, 'life force', 'energy'. 'Gong' means work applied to a discipline or the resultant level of skill, so 'qigong' is thus 'breath work' or 'energy work'.
Tai Chi refers to a form of traditional Chinese mind/body exercise and meditation that uses slow sets of body movements and controlled breathing. Tai chi is done to improve balance, flexibility, muscle strength, and overall health. "Tai" meaning supreme, "chi" meaning energy, 'life force'.
