The Next Open House & Introduction to our workshop series will be held Saturday, January 30th from 3:00 to 5:00pm.
Offered as 10 Modules
Our program is offered modularly - meaning you take the modules a la carte as workshops (see below). These workshops are open to anyone to attend. The completion of the 10 workshops listed below provides the hours required for to apply for certification through Yoga Alliance. Anyone may attend any given workshop, but all 10 must be completed to register with Yoga Alliance.
Pricing
The cumulative cost for all 10 Modules is $2,860 if you pay over time. Pay for all 10 modules up-front and you will receive one module Free for a total price of $2,574.
A $200 deposit gets you started and is applied towards the Practicum Workshop.
If you feel you may qualify, please inquire about our work-study program. Blue Anjou will offer one Scholarship/Work Study situation per year. Those in financial hardship only please.

Study Areas
- Asana - Learn how the asanas are built from the foundation up and you will be confident teaching the beginner as well as the seasoned practitioner. Contraindications concerning special populations will be emphasized and safety will be stressed greatly. We will discuss common injuries and special populations such as pregnancy, seniors, and common injuries and medical conditions often found in group yoga classes today.
- Pranayama - You will be taught many pranayamas and the effect they each have on the body and their contraindications as well. (Includes anatomy & physiology of the breath)
- Meditation- Learn a variety of meditation practices by attending a 8 Week meditation series & 3 Yoga Nidra classes (includes restorative yoga). (Most likely will be held on Sunday afternoons or evenings)

- Student Learning styles - you will learn about the different types of learners and how to reach all of them effectively.
- Teaching Styles/Instruction/Assisting - become confident in finding your voice as a teacher and what style of yoga most resonates with you.

Anatomy and Physiology
- The Physical Body - "Western Anatomy [&] Physiology" You will come to understand healthy movement patterns, benefits, and contraindications of the asanas through the study of various bodily systems.
- The Energy Body - "Eastern Anatomy [&] Physiology" We will explore the energy body including the Nadis, Marmas, Chakras, etc.
- Each Asana module will correlate with the physical body as well as the energetic body
Philosophy, Ethics, and Lifestyle
- History of Yoga
- Yoga Lifestyle including: diet, cleansing, practicing, living the 8 Limbs
- Ethics of Teaching Yoga, the student/teacher relationship
- Sages, Sutras, [&] The Bhagavadgita
Modules
- Foundation Beginner Series (25 Hours)
- Module Covers: Breaking Asana Down
- Must take at least once to complete the training
- Must attend 10 Beginner Classes
- Homework: Teach a 6 week Beginner Series to Friends and Family.
- This module will run for 7 weeks on Sundays from 10:30-12:00 and will be offered several times per year.
- Meditation & Pranayama Series and 3 Yoga Nidra Classes (25 Hours)
- Homework: 40 Day Meditation & Pranayama Journal
- Meditation & Pranayama: This will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 or Sundays 10:30-12:00 several times per year.
- Yoga Nidra is [generally] offered 1st Sundays Monthly from 1-3p at Blue Anjou Studio
- Yoga Philosophy and Lifestyle (25 Hours)
- Module Covers: History of Yoga, Sages, Sutras (8-limbs), The Bhagavad Gita, Sanskrit & Chanting Basics and the basics of Ayurveda
- Must attend 2 Kirtans
- Homework: Ayurveda (Body and Mind)
- May 21st-23rd (Fri: 6:30-9:00), (Sat: 1:00-9:00), Sunday (12-4)
- Kirtan scheduled for 1st Sat. Monthly from 2-4p
- Foundation Poses, Standing Poses, and Suryanamaskar (18 Hours)
- Module Covers: Chakra 1, Pranayama, Feet/Knees & Core Line
- Feb. 26th-28th (Fri: 6:30-9:00), (Sat: 1:00-9:00), Sunday (12-4)
- Hip Openers (18 Hours)
- Module Covers: Chakra 2, Pranayama, & Pelvis

- Must take 10 Yoga Lab Classes (Included in Module Fee)

- 5 Hours Teaching Classes to Friends/Family (this does not include teaching the Beginner Series)
- Teach Karma Class at Blue Anjou

* In order to enhance the learning experience, self-Study, group projects and workshops will be encouraged outside of scheduled workshops hours to help solidify topics covered and can be arranged according to your own personal schedule.
Yoga Alliance Registration
After completing each module, you will receive a certificate of completion. After you complete 200 hours of workshops, you are eligible to apply with Yoga Alliance should you choose to become registered. Upon completion of the coursework, and depending on your own practice, you will be prepared to share the gift of yoga with others.
Refunds
You may receive a 90% refund 7 days prior to each module. 10% is held for administrative and processing purposes.
