I have always been physically active with running and at the gym, but it was when I committed to my daily yoga practice in 2007 that I discovered a transformation in my body and mind and I found my calling to teach. I completed my 200HR and 500HR yoga teacher training at Blue Anjou and purchased the studio. It has been an honor to be a part of our unique, talented and caring community of teachers and students. I am rewarded daily with the tremendous gift and blessing of witnessing the continued growth of our wonderful Blue community. I enjoy teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Meditation, Yoga for Beginners, Yoga for Athletes, and Yoga Teacher Training. I am also certified in Prenatal, Yoga for Kids, and Reiki. I welcome you to join me for class!

E-RYT 500, CYC, LMT/LMTI (ret)., YACEP
After nearly 20 years as a bodyworker and massage therapy instructor, I retired from massage work to fully dedicate myself to teaching Yoga. My classes are a mix of breath work and meditation with a focus on posture and anatomy. It’s important to me to educate my students on why the body does what it does and why we Yoga the way we do! I teach Therapeutics and Adaptive, All Levels Hatha, Yoga Nidra, and Curvy Yoga with an emphasis on modification, and in an honest and *sometimes* irreverent manner. I want my students to feel like they’ve attained something from each class and I’m so honored to be a part of their practice. I'm also very proud to be one of the instructors for Blue Anjou's teacher training program and will soon finish my own certification as a yoga therapist.
I’ve lived in the renaissance fair, got expelled from religious school, been to every state in America, and was trained by a Karadji in the Koori tribe of Australia. I’ve got a piece of quartz under my tongue and I’m supposed to be able to time travel, but I haven't mastered that yet. I’m so happy to be the Chairwoman of Team Science at Blue Anjou! I can’t wait to see you in class.

I came to yoga out of a need for balance, in my life and fitness. Intrigued by the depth of the practice, I began a teacher training. I am certified through Blue Anjou’s Teacher Training, Yoga Bridge Yoga for Cancer Training and Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy. My husband and I are recent empty nesters of two college boys and though I miss them, I am enjoying new found freedom to travel and have adventures…and a lower grocery bill! I teach restorative, gentle, hatha, yin, Kundalini and believe meditation is the cornerstone of yoga and incorporate meditation in every class I teach. I have found through self-study and a personal practice that yoga is exactly for me, and that yoga is for everybody.

I discovered yoga and Blue Anjou in 2015. My first yoga experience was the Beginner’s Series with Lisa and I’ve been hooked ever since then!
I completed my 200 Hour teacher training at Blue and I am currently pursuing my 300 Hour, Asana for All Bodies and Curvy Yoga certifications.
I am retired from a long career teaching elementary students. I’m so happy to have rekindled a passion for teaching and sharing the joy of yoga.
I truly believe that yoga is for “every body” and that everyone may benefit from the unique union of mind, body, breath and spirit offered through yoga.
Please join me in class for Gentle Hatha. I’d love to see you!

My name is Jenny Powell. I am a retired elementary school teacher. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Masters in Learning Disabilities. I taught for 35 years in Tucson, Arizona and Lewisville, Texas before retiring from LISD. Eight of my years were in Special Education classrooms. I have been practicing yoga on a regular basis for the last fifteen years. I am currently an RYT-E. I have also completed 95 hours training in Radiant Child Yoga. I am currently teaching adult yoga classes for Senior Adults, Restorative Yoga and Kundalini Yoga. My work with yoga for children includes Saturday Storybook Yoga classes and after school yoga classes in LISD.
My most recent project is in planning and promoting a Yoga program for special populations that will help at risk children maintain their natural wisdom and radiance. Using Yoga with a therapeutic approach, and targeting autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit disorders and other special populations I hope to help these children release anxiety and control their emotions. Increasing their feeling of well-being is an important goal for these children. I believe in the power of the Mind, Body and Spirit and Yoga, in my opinion, is one of the best ways to connect these powerful concepts and promote a healthy lifestyle.

I first found yoga years ago as an alternative to riding my bicycle outside and attending spin class in the gym. Early on I had a spin teacher that also taught yoga. We would use yoga as a method to stretch out after spin. Soon, I was in the yoga studio more than on my bike or in spin class. I have a degree in education that did not get a lot of use initially. I guess I knew I had to teach, just not what. My B.S. degree was Art Education: I like to try to find the art in everything. Now its the art in Yoga that draws me. The physical alignment of the body, the mindfulness of breath control, all help us to be present in the moment. I offer classes that are simple and easy to understand, hopefully everyone can take something away to use in their own practice. Restorative yoga allows us to take time to quiet our minds, focus on our breath and slow down from the hectic daily schedule. Join me for a quiet restful class. Looking forward to seeing you at Blue.

I have a background in elementary education as well as children's gymnastics/yoga/dance instruction. In addition, I am a certified Water Fitness instructor. My yoga journey began at a time when I was experiencing many emotional and physical changes and feeling very off-balance. I knew nothing about yoga except that you were supposed to be extremely fit, flexible, and have cute outfits. I did not fit that description! After my first class at Blue Anjou, I felt like I had discovered something amazing. I found such joy in my personal practice that I decided to become a registered yoga instructor. I am currently pursuing my 300 RYT and enjoy teaching Gentle Hatha, chakra yoga, and meditation. My passion is showing people that yoga is for everyone, regardless of body type or stage of life.

In my late thirties, my family and I decided to move from Switzerland to Dallas for a 2-year adventure. At that time, we never would have guessed we would still be living here many years later. My husband, our two daughters, and I are Swiss citizens. Overall these years, we’ve had the privilege of going back and forth between the two countries every summer. This gave our children the opportunity to get to know their culture.
In my leisure time, I enjoy being both physically and mentally active. In my earlier years, I was a passionate runner. Unfortunately, it took a toll on my knees, so now I enjoy things like cycling, swimming, hiking, and skiing. In the Summer of 2008, while staying in Switzerland, I went to a book store where I came across a book about Yoga. The same night I started reading it, I realized that this would be my new path. As soon as I got back to Dallas, I started taking my first yoga classes and I’ve loved it ever since.
While practicing Yoga, I soon realized that my mind stops thinking about the past or worrying about the future. That was the first time I experienced mindfulness. In 2015, I became a Certified Yoga Instructor RYT 200 at Blue Anjou. A year later I started the 300 hour certification training program.
My goal is to help students to let their mind be in the ‘now’, which is an important step in becoming more mindful in daily life. With this practice, the mind is more at peace and we are able to enjoy every given moment. I am honored to be part of the Blue Anjou community and very excited to be given the opportunity to share my knowledge.

One of my primary goals in life is to remain active & to grow old gracefully, avoiding pharmaceutical medications as much as possible. I personally believe that practicing Yoga along with a good diet and exercise are the best prescription for good health and longevity.
I’ve been a practitioner of Yoga for over 30 years but I always had the desire to share this amazing gift with others. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. Once my children left the nest I made the wonderful decision to study and earn my 200 RYT and now I enjoy leading others in this path to finding inner peace.
I enjoy teaching both Yin & Yang style classes; believing we all need both to find that balance in our practice and in life.
Joshua Hill
RYT 200
I turned to Yoga initially as a healthy outlet for stress management and a desire to become more health-conscious, prioritizing both my physical and mental health. During this personal journey of improvement, I drew inspiration from observing my yoga instructors and reflected on the idea of teaching what I had grown to be passionate about. I realized I wanted to pursue something much bigger; something that could help others on their own personal journeys to improve their health and bring balance to their well-being, as it had for me. I found a home and my calling in the peaceful serenity of the yoga studio.
I received formal training at Blue Anjou and currently teach Hatha, Yin, and Chair Yoga. I enjoy teaching multiple styles of Yoga but drawn to Yin and Pranayama practices for the gentle, peaceful pace they provide.
I will be continuing my formal studies in the Winter, pursuing my 500-hour RYT certification. As the in-house Yogi for Simplistic Music Company, I aspire to incorporate music production with movement and hopes to include Sound Healing in the near future.

I discovered yoga in my late teens and have practiced ever since with various teachers. After my 20 year career as a massage therapist came to a close, I searched for my new venture and found the Blue Anjou teacher training program. I completed the 200 hour teacher training certification and look forward to beginning the 300 hour program in the near future. I love exercise, reading, finding joy in small things, and the art of breathing. I think the human body is super fascinating and I love the positive way that yoga integrates the mind and body. I have taught a variety of classes at Blue and would love to see you on the mat!
